My Story
Meet Topaz, the youngest of our horses at Ashers Farm Sanctuary, though he’s already 10 years old. Topaz, along with three other horses, was rescued by African Blessings in 2006 from the Onderstepoort Biological Products (OBP) Research Centre, where he was used for vaccine research. His past may have been filled with hardship, but his future is full of hope and transformation.
Since joining the Ashers Family in 2013, Topaz has proven to be a loving, gentle, and brave soul. His journey from a research facility to a sanctuary has shown that with care, patience, and love, even the most mistreated animals can heal and thrive.
